Emina is one of our safe house residents. We’ve been providing her with a place to call home while she recovers from the trauma she’s been through, and tailored one-to-one support to begin rebuilding her life. Without this, Emina would be extremely vulnerable to being re-exploited.
Emina is a survivor of trafficking and sexual exploitation. The years of trauma that she went through had a huge impact on her. She can’t talk about her past, she finds it too painful.
‘I could never have imagined that I’d be able to live in a place like this [Ella’s],’ says Emina. ‘It is so different to my past, because no-one is hurting me here. They are only protecting me.’

Unlocking freedom
The support we provide at Ella’s is much more than a ‘nice-to-have’ for women who’ve survived trafficking and exploitation. It is absolutely crucial to their recovery and long-term safety, and so are you.
The need for our work is urgent and vast. It’s also growing, as climate change, conflict and poverty make more people vulnerable to exploitation.
Your support as a sponsor will make it possible for us to be there for those in most need. Your gifts will help provide rooms for survivors, and so much more. They will go towards:
the running of our safe houses
the provision of high quality, tailored support work for women like Emina
community outreach to help women living outside of our safe houses, including mums with young children
securing the future growth and sustainability of Ella’s, to reach more survivors.

Be part of the Ella’s community
As a room sponsor, we’ll send you special emails twice a year, Summer and Winter, with stories about the women we work with and the impact of your support. You’ll get a real insight into the inspiring strength of survivors like Emina, as they recover and build lives that are safe and free. We’ll also give you opportunities to encourage the women we work with at certain times during the year, for example by sending Christmas cards and more, if this is something you’d like to do.
